After my college years, I worked my way up until I was Lead Printer at one of the Nation's largest silk screen shops using state of the art automatic presses that required a team of five to operate.   From there, I was responsible for supervising six such machines.   Within the following years, I worked as Art Director, Assistant Art Director, Production Artist, Darkroom Technician, Computer Design, Client Consultation and pre-press duties such as burning plates/screens.   I performed these duties for three different art departments throughout the Mid-South.  During these years, I freelanced artwork for the furniure industry. In that regard, I've always been a freelancer (since 9th grade). In fact, I served as a freelancer by providing window paintings/signs for an arts & crafts shop and package illustrator for a highly produced Walmart product but I've also been a professional upolsterer.  For the the past 8+ years, however, I've served clients and authors as a full time freelance illustrator/designer.   I have a loving, supportive wife, who was gracious enough to marry me in August of 1990, with additional grace directed my way by giving me three exceptional children to their own credit.   I can't imagine living in a better area for healthy, happy living and with a beautiful house and 150 acres, find joy in life, my church and my family. The opportunity to have a fulfilling occupation is an additional blessing.  In return, I hope to be a blessing to my clients.

In closing, during my years as a full-time, freelance illustrator/designer, I have met many quality authors, business professionals and those simply wishing to assist in creating something special for themselves, their loved ones or the world. As a published artist for several book series, I feel that I have accomplished much.  In addition, I feel as though I have achieved much through exceptional cartoons for several individuals.  In fact, I provided some of my best work for an outstanding client in Australia whom I worked with for well over a year and on a daily basis.  I've created t-shirt designs, web designs, book covers and inside illustrations and I'm  proud of each and every creation.  It is my goal to one day become a full time book illustrator but my main objective, regardless of the project's requirements,  is to provide my clients with the VERY BEST that I am capable of delivering.  I hope to support and promote all of my client's dreams and goals and if you are in search of such a provider, I am most certainly in search of additional clients of high quality.

                                                                                                             Sincerely,

As a teen, I did quite well in Football, Track and Academic requirements and during my high school years, even kept up with all of this while working part-time at a construction shop serving as clean-up and 'go-4'.   With all this on my pallet, no pun intended, I managed to experiment with oils, acrylics and water pens.  My passion, during this time, seemed to be moving more and more towards scupture and shaping something from practically nothing. Sadly, I never persued this art as a career and after being awarded a scholarship in art, majored in Advertising/Design.  While in college, I performed duties such as developing and creating murals for the college halls and other functions while remaining on the Dean's List.  I also won 1st place in Advertising/Design and Sculpture.  I gave most of my work to teachers who supported me, family members and friends but a few sculpture pieces, from when I was 15 remained in my possession.  These probably survived due to the fact that said work is out of wax from those waxy liguid drinks and clay from pond banks around the farm.

Since childhood, I have either sketched out my favorite characters on typing paper or sculpted animals & warriors from Play-Doh.  I was probably 4 or 5 when I created my own coloring book of The LONE RANGER.  By age 6 or 7, I developed an interest and admiration of Joe Kubert's DC Comics work, of the TARZAN series (early and mid 70's).  I was also a huge fan and follower of Buscema's CONAN before picking up on Joe Kubert's The BRAVE & The BOLD.  Later, the great Neal Adam's potrayal of the 70's & 80's Batman series and Frank Frazetta's fantastic fantasy paintings inspired me enough to continue my practice in Art. I say practice because I don't necessarily believe in talent and see excellence more as a skill one develops. It is the commitment one applies to their passions and interests that earns perfection.  The cougar image is testimony to this as it was created when I was 11 years young.  My sketches from ealier years were good but, from practice, I was able to develop general skills that resulted in this pastel image below.   when I wasn't  shooting  toy soldiers with rubber bands,  I was reading comics or creating my own comics and toys.
